Founded in 2005 by Brian and Shelly Schneider, Allegiance Heating & Air has been servicing Kentuckiana for nearly two decades. Specializing in home comfort and air quality, the core mission has always been to take care of people.
But starting an HVAC company wasn’t always the plan for the Schneiders. Brian originally wanted to be a nurse. Upon giving it a try and realizing that wasn’t the job for him, his brother told him he’d be good in the heating and air world. And he was. In six months he was on call, in one year he was figuring out issues that technicians with ten years experience couldn’t. It was then that he decided to branch out and start his own company. Growing up with very little, he strived to change his family tree.
Even before diving into heating and air, Brian always wanted to own his own business and to take care of people. To this day his core mission remains the same, remaining family run and keeping people happy and comfortable in their own home.
But starting a business is a lot of work for one person. After about a year of Allegiance being open, Shelly came on board. Shelly had received a bachelors of science degree in business with a focus in finance from Indiana University Southeast. She also obtained a masters degree in business from the University of Phoenix. Upon graduating she worked as an internal auditor in corporate America. When she came on board to Allegiance she ran the office. She did everything from human resources to accounting. Shelly played an integral role in growing Allegiance.
Since 2005, we have expanded tremendously thanks to our supportive community. We started off with more commercial work focusing on difficult issues no one could figure out. Over the years we really found our niche catering to residential cliential. Forming relationships with our customers and keeping the company family focused is what we enjoy best.
Being family owned and operated has been a main quality that sets Allegiance apart from competitors. We don’t have a single technician on staff we wouldn’t trust in our own home with our own children. While this has been a limiting factor in growth, it is well worth the cost for hiring trustworthy employees. They hold all the values that mean the most to our company. Along with having servant hearts, our technicians are all licensed journeymen with continuous manufacturing training. Our employees tie us together into one big family.
Community has also always been a center focus for us. We make a conscious effort to put our resources back into the community. We try to be involved in our local athletes and sponsor teams as much as we can. No amount of profit or monetary number can prove our success, as long as we have happy customers, involve ourselves in the community, and have fulfilled employees, we are more successful than we could dream of.
